Managed payouts
On Growth and Scale, Klibon can pay your affiliates for you. Once a month it charges your card for what you owe and sends each affiliate their money through Stripe. Stripe holds and moves the funds; Klibon gives the instructions and never holds a balance of its own.
Setting it up
- Open your program's Payouts tab and choose Set up managed payouts.
- Accept the merchant terms, which cover the charge authorization.
- Save a card. It goes straight to Stripe — Klibon stores only its brand and last four digits. This card is separate from the one that pays your Klibon plan.
That switches the program on. The card belongs to your account, so a second program only needs the switch. Nothing changes about what is owed: the $50.00 minimum payout applies here as it does on every plan, and below it a commission simply carries to the next month.
The month, step by step
- The 1st. Statements are issued, exactly as on every plan.
- The 1st to the 5th. Your review window. The Payouts tab shows what will be charged and who will be paid. You can hold one statement, pause the whole payout, or pay someone yourself and mark it. You get an email the day before the charge.
- The 5th. Klibon charges your card once per currency, for the statements it can pay plus the fee.
- When the charge clears. Klibon sends each affiliate their transfer. A statement shows Paid only once Stripe has created that transfer — never before. The affiliate gets an email, and Stripe pays their bank on their own payout schedule.
Pay now does the same thing without waiting for the 5th.
The fee
3% of the commissions Klibon pays out, charged to you on top. It covers card processing, the payout to each affiliate's bank, identity checks and failed-payment handling, all run by Stripe. Affiliates receive the full commission; their bank or a currency conversion may apply its own charges.
Two affiliates owed $320.00 and $180.00: you are charged $500.00 in commissions plus $15.00 in fees, $515.00 in all. They receive $320.00 and $180.00. It is not a cut of commissions, and what you pay by hand carries no fee.
Who Klibon can pay
An affiliate is paid by Klibon when they have connected a Stripe account, Stripe has verified it, they are based in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, the US or Canada, and the statement is in USD or EUR and at least $50.00. Everyone else stays on the manual path, in the same tab, with the reason shown on their row. Nothing is lost: you pay them yourself and mark the statement paid.
When something fails
- Your card is declined. Nobody is paid and nothing is charged. The statements go back to due, Klibon tries again two days later (up to three times), and you can update the card and retry at once, or pay by hand.
- Your bank asks you to confirm. The payout waits. You get an email with a link to confirm; if you never do, it lapses after a week and the statements go back to due.
- One affiliate cannot be paid, because Stripe restricted their account since. Everyone else is paid. That one statement goes back to due, and you are refunded its amount and its share of the fee.
- Your plan lapses. Nothing scheduled is charged. A payout that is already being charged completes — those affiliates were promised it.
A refund after Klibon has paid
The same rule as a statement you paid yourself: a settled statement is never rewritten. The correction appears as a negative line on the affiliate's next statement. This also applies from the moment Klibon starts charging you for a statement, since that figure is already fixed. Klibon does not take money back from an affiliate.
Bank transfer instead of a card
For euro payouts you can fund by bank transfer. On the 5th the Payouts tab shows an IBAN and a reference; your affiliates are paid as soon as your transfer lands, usually within one or two business days. Payouts in USD are charged to a card.
Disputes
If a payout charge is disputed with your bank, managed payouts are frozen on your account and anything scheduled is paused until it is resolved with Klibon. Affiliates who were already paid keep what they were paid. Pay due statements yourself in the meantime.
Switching it off
On the same card, at any time and on any plan. You pay that program's affiliates yourself again from the next statement; a payout already being charged still completes.
For affiliates
Affiliates connect Stripe once, under Getting paid in their Klibon account. Stripe verifies their identity and asks for the bank account; Klibon never sees either. It is free for them. After that, every merchant who uses managed payouts pays them the same way, and their Stripe Express dashboard shows each payout on its way to their bank.
