Set up with an agent

Describe your product to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and let it set up the program: the draft, the source of sales, a rate per product, the tracking tag. It works through a server signed in to your account. You paste your payment processor's key and press Activate, from the one link it sends you. Available on every plan.

endpoint
https://mcp.klibon.com/merchant

Connect your agent

Add the endpoint above as a custom connector. Your agent opens Klibon in the browser: sign in, read what it asks for, and choose Allow. You never copy a token.

Claude

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the URL, then click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Klibon and choose Allow.

ChatGPT

  1. Add a custom connector in ChatGPT's settings (it may ask you to turn on developer mode).
  2. Paste the URL and choose OAuth.
  3. Sign in to Klibon and choose Allow.

Cursor

  1. Add a new MCP server in Cursor's settings.
  2. Paste the URL as its address.
  3. Sign in to Klibon when Cursor asks, and choose Allow.

Claude Code

  1. Run the command below in your project.
  2. Run /mcp in Claude Code, pick klibon-merchant and sign in.
shell
claude mcp add --transport http klibon-merchant https://mcp.klibon.com/merchant

Then ask it

Paste this as your first message, with your product's name and site. It asks you before it creates anything and before it sets a rate.

prompt
Set up a Klibon affiliate program for [my product] ([its website]) using the Klibon connector.

1. Create the program. Suggest a cookie window, hold, minimum payout and approval mode for a product like this, and ask me before you create it.
2. Connect how sales are reported: if I take payments through Stripe, Creem, Polar or Paddle, tell me exactly where to paste the key in Klibon. If my server records payments itself, create a Generic API key and declare my products.
3. Propose a commission for each product, then set the rates I approve.
4. Get the install kit. If you can edit this site's code, add the tracking tag and pass the referral code into the checkout; otherwise give me the instructions.
5. Check the setup status and send me the link to review and activate.

How a setup goes

  1. Draft the program from a description of your product, and edit it later.
  2. Create a Generic API key and declare the products your server sells.
  3. Set a commission rate on each product, or leave one out.
  4. Fetch your tracking tag and checkout instructions, and install them if it can edit your code.
  5. Check what is left, then send you one link to review and activate.

If you take payments through Stripe, Creem, Polar or Paddle, the agent tells you which key to create and gives you the Klibon page where you paste it. Your products then appear, and the agent carries on with the rates. If your own server records payments, the agent creates a Generic API key and, if it can edit your code, wires the conversions API itself.

Once nothing is left, the agent sends you a link. It opens your program with a summary of the product, each product's rate and the settings. Nothing is published until you press Activate program there.

What you allow

  • Read your programs. Their settings, products, commission rates and what is left before activation.
  • Draft and edit your programs. Create draft programs, edit the product and settings, add API products and set commission rates.
  • Create an API key for your checkout. A Generic API key, so it can connect sales your own server records. Shown to the agent once; revoke it in the program's setup.
  • Stay connected. Keep this access without asking you again, until you revoke it in Settings.

Creating an API key is a separate permission. An agent you connected before it existed asks again: disconnect it in Agents and connect it once more.

The tools

Tool Access What it does
list_my_programsreadYour programs, their status, and what is left before each can be activated.
create_programwriteA draft program for a new product: the product itself, cookie window, hold, minimum payout, currency, approval mode.
update_productwriteThe product affiliates read about: name, website, logo, description, audience, promotion rules and resources.
update_program_settingswriteThe program's settings on an existing program. Never its status.
get_checkout_setupreadFor Stripe, Creem, Polar or Paddle: which key to create, the webhook when one is needed, and the Klibon page where you paste it.
create_api_keyAPI keyA Generic API key, for sales your own server records. Returned once, to be stored in your server's environment.
add_catalog_productwriteA product id for the Generic API.
refresh_catalogwriteReads your processor's products again, after you add one there.
list_catalogreadA program's products and what each one pays.
set_commission_rulewriteA rate on one product, or the optional default rule.
get_install_kitreadYour tracking tag, the checkout instructions for your processors, and your test link.
get_setup_statusreadWhat is left, from the same check as the Setup page. Once nothing is, the link you activate from.

Each tool runs the same code as the dashboard, with the same rules. The minimum payout never goes below $50.00, the cookie window stays between 1 and 365 days, and a program is ready only when at least one product has its own rate — a default rule set by an agent is a fallback and never counts. Answers are what Klibon stored, not what the agent sent.

What an agent can never do

  • Connect Stripe, Creem, Polar or Paddle: their secret keys never pass through an agent. It tells you where to paste them.
  • Activate, pause or publish a program: it sends you one link, and you press Activate after checking.
  • Accept terms on your behalf.
  • Touch money: payouts, statements, managed payouts, plans or checkout.
  • Invite, approve or reject affiliates, or review mission submissions.

When it reaches one of these, it hands you the link to the dashboard step that does it.

Your record, and how to disconnect

Every change an agent makes is recorded with the agent's name and the program it touched, in Agents. An API key is recorded by its first characters only. The Agents page also lists every agent you allowed and when it was last used. Disconnecting one takes effect on its next call.

Not the public MCP server

The public MCP server reads the marketplace for anyone, with no account. It stays read-only and anonymous. This one is a separate endpoint that only answers to you.
